* The article must be no shorter than 500 words; if it looks too short, you lose points.
* Download the link below and follow directions on this document to answer the summaries.
* You must complete two [2] separate summaries and place them on this page as Word documents.
* Create the title "Part II: Current Event Summaries"
Scoring - 20 total points:
Each summary is graded according to this rubric:
1 pt - attach a link to the article (if they fail to do this, they receive a "0"
1 pt. - correct citation in MLA format
4 pts - summary of article - answering the 5 w's.
4 pts - reaction to article - full credit can only be received if you show that you are able to
understand the author's point of view and/or bias.

* Working with your shoulder partner, answer the "Charting the Crisis" questions on the handout
[one per partner --be sure to identify both partners on the chart before you hand in]
* Be sure both partners have a completed copy of the "chart" to use on their note quiz.

* View the PPT below. Both partners may discuss and complete this assignment and hand in their
analysis on one of the three cartoons.
* Select one of the political cartoons and answer the questions on the handout
